A CHANCE FOR REAL CHANGE.
a natural Leader with a Passion for Public Service.
Cleveland’s new diverse Ward 7 deserves a leader focused on building a safer and more cohesive community inclusive of all who wish to build their lives here. It requires a responsive city councilmember unafraid to challenge the status quo, resist caving to outside special interests or following personal prerogatives. Most importantly, Ward 7 needs a leader who makes residents feel heard while their needs and desires are met. Residents know what's best for their communities. Their councilperson should work for them, and with them, to make those needs and preferences a reality.
A significant proportion of residents in Ward 7 represent vulnerable segments of the population: LGBTQIA+, women whose reproductive rights are at risk, seniors, public housing recipients, the unhoused, refugees and other minority groups. They deserve a leader willing to shield, defend and advance the rights, safety and economic mobility of our vulnerable neighbors in an increasingly harsher and dangerous political and social climate.

mike’s vision
Government will start working for us, the people. I want to take the role of councilperson back to the streets and turn institutions back over to the residents, including community development corporations. These organizations under no circumstance should be harming or pushing out any population. The incremental peeling back of the tax abatement program in our ward has not gone far enough. Eliminating tax abatements for new construction luxury housing and apartments needs to happen now. Creating land trusts to keep housing affordable will be a priority. I also believe in free public transportation. The creation of high density housing (and businesses and retail) at transit hubs will be a priority of mine. I’ll also strive for walkable and fully accessible neighborhoods and infrastructure, as well as a full range of multi-modal transportation options.
